Go For Your Dreams

Go for your dreams like there is no tomorrow.

Tomorrow is never guaranteed. If you are living life like tomorrow is guaranteed, you probably owe people apologies, you probably haven't been very grateful and joyful, and you probably haven't reached your dreams. Be wise and don't rush, but this does not mean delay or quit when you should take action. When you (1) dream of something you love and want to pursue, (2) know that along the way you will become a better person, (3) know that this dream is possible, --> go for it. If you have a dream that checks off these 3 criteria and you haven't started chasing it, you should ask yourself "Why?"

If your answer to this question is you are chasing other dreams and those are a higher priority to you, that is a valid response. Dreams tend to be time consuming and time management can only get you so far. We are human. We need breaks and rest. Time is not infinite for us. If you don't have enough time for another dream now, you could always postpone it for later. Make sure the dream/dreams you choose are worth the time you are putting into them. If progress isn't showing when it should, you are either close to a breakthrough OR you can learn from this lack of progress and adapt. Remember that a lot of the benefits of a dream (like improved character) come along the journey, not just when you reach the destination.

If your answer to this question is because you are afraid (of embarrassment, failure, etc.), that is NOT a valid response. When you have found a dream that is meant for you, you SHOULD NOT pass it up because of fear. If you quit every time there was fear, you would barely ever succeed. Remember that fear is not something you can control. We must focus on what we can control. Choose to accept fear and refocus on doing what your heart yearns for.

If your answer to this question is because you don't believe you will accomplish your dream, that is NOT a valid response. One of the 3 criteria was if the dream was possible. Not every dream is possible as we are human. However, people tend to count themselves out when the dream IS possible, but it is unlikely. To accomplish your dream, you may have to be one of few in the world that has done it. Sometimes to accomplish your dream, you may have to be the first one to do it. No matter the case, don't let the numbers dampen your belief in yourself. Belief in yourself is crucial even when faced with challenging circumstances. Yes, it is important to realistically look at your dream, physically, financially, etc. to make sure you still can provide for yourself and your family in all areas of life. However, you can't forget the importance of risks. The more smart risks you take, the more rewarded you will be. Risk is one of the barriers between you are your dream. Balance all these aspects to make the right decision for you, but never ever give up on your dream because you don't think you can accomplish it, when it is actually possible.

If you put your dream off till tomorrow, regret is one step closer. If you quit, regret comes into play.

Going for your dream hurts. Regret hurts too, but it is worse because you are left with hurt and no accomplished dream.

Go for your dreams! You can do it!
