Free Yourself From Negative Emotions

Free yourself from your negative emotions! You will, in turn, live a better life!

Novak Djokovic, a very successful professional tennis player, explained in an interview how the idea of striving to stay positive all the time is flawed. We are human. We are imperfect. We will experience negative thoughts and emotions whether we want to or not. The way to work through these emotions, especially in a sports competition, is to experience the emotions for a little, let them go, and then choose to "bounce back" or "reset" as Djokovic mentioned. Trying to be a perfectionist, especially with negative emotions and thoughts, isn't healthy. Being perfect is impossible, so you beating yourself up about your mistakes and faults will be to no avail. You cannot make yourself perfect no matter how hard you try. Beating yourself up (poor body language, negative self-talk, etc.) hurts you.

When you choose to experience (but not act on) your negative emotions and thoughts and then release them, you probably will feel a weight and a burden lift off of you. Doing anything in a calm state of mind, not distracted by negativity, not only helps you make better decisions, but it also frees you. Negativity weighs on you mentally, physically, emotionally, etc. Let go of that burden and choose freedom. That burden is not worth it no matter how angry, frustrated, or upset you are.

Be human. Embrace your faults. Embrace your negative emotions and thoughts. Work through them. Then, enjoy your freedom from them!
