Who you surround yourself with is important. Choose these people wisely!
The people around you are a big impact on how you live your life and who you become. Make sure to surround yourself with people that lift you up, push you towards your dreams, and are there for you when no one is watching. People who share the values you have can keep you accountable. Additionally, people who are empathetic will find ways to understand you. You will start to feel heard and feel a sense of lightness to your step when you find the right people for you. Look for people who have these qualities and stick with by them through thick and thin. Any relationship, especially a friendship, needs effort from both sides for it to work.
There was an idea discussed by a man speaking on a motivational podcast. He talked about how you can look at the five people closest to someone and you can tell what that person is like. Think of the five people closest to you... Are these people good people? Do you feel good when you spend time with them? Do you feel refreshed and fulfilled after you spend time with them? Do you look forward to seeing them? Are they pushing you towards your goals and dreams? Are they pushing you towards who you want to be? Are you happy these people are close to you? Do you think they are the right people for you?
These are difficult questions to face. If your answers to these questions are mainly no's, then you should reconsider who you are surrounding yourself with. If there are a few no's, still consider if they are the right people for you. If your answers are all yes's, then it looks like you are surrounding yourself with great people! That is incredible! You are very blessed to have found these people. You can ask even more questions about the people that surround you and evaluate the relationships you have.
Always be aware of who you let into your close circle. Toxic people aren't the type of people you want in your life. Their toxicity will drag you down with them. Start each day fresh. Life is waiting for you. Live it to the fullest!
