Friday Focus! Each Friday, I will be challenging you to focus on something. This Friday's Focus is to never stop being kind even if your acts of kindness are small.
I have a great story for you all to read today. It is an adaptation of Loren Eiseley's "Starfish Story" (1969). I found it on Sahil Bloom's newsletter. It's so beautiful.

Here is the adaptation of the "Starfish Story."
...
An old man was walking along the beach when he noticed a young boy picking up starfish and throwing them back into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, "Excuse me, but what are you doing?"
The boy replied, "The sun is rising and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw the starfish back in, they’ll die."
The old man shook his head and said, "But there's too many starfish on this beach. You can’t possibly make a difference."
After thinking for a moment, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish and threw it into the ocean.
Then, he turned to the old man and said, "Well, I made a difference to that one."

I hope this story inspired you like it did me. This story shows how no act of kindness is wasted. It's easy to justify our inaction by saying that we will have little to no impact. However, there will always be a positive impact from each act of kindness we perform. Our perspective on this matter makes all the difference. Start seeing any type of impact/change as an impact/change instead of denying it because it may be small. Small acts of kindness build over time and can change your life as well as others. Let's start to change the world together!
Today's Challenge:
Try to perform 3 acts of kindness today and honestly try to view them each as having a necessary impact even if you normally would consider them small and unimportant.
Ongoing Challenge:
Try to perform multiple acts of kindess each day while trying to honestly view them as making a positive and necessary impact.
