Friday Focus: Spend Some Time With Pets/Animals

Friday Focus! Each Friday, I will be challenging you to focus on something. This Friday's Focus is spending some time with pets and/or animals.

Spending time with pets and/or animals is a great stress reliever! Take advantage of it. This quality time will help you to focus on the present moment and hopefully release some worries that are plaguing your mind. Additionally, empathizing, caring for, and seeing the goodness in animals can help you see it in other forms of creation like nature and even other people. It is difficult to see the good in others, especially if they have hurt you or if they are the cause of your worries. However, seeing the goodness in them can help while processing the hurt you have experienced. It keeps you more level-headed and more empathetic. It also helps you separate the person from the action.

 

Today's Challenge:

Spend at least 20 minutes today with a pet or watching an animal (like bird watching, etc. - make sure it is safe though!). Try to release your focus on the problems in your life and let utter peace, wonder, and joy fascinate and fill you.

 

Ongoing Challenge:

Try carving out at least 10-20 minutes every day spending time with a pet, watching an animal, or if this is not possible every day, watching funny or cute videos about animals. You could also flip through photographic books of animals which can show how wonderful and fascinating they are.
