Friday Focus! Each Friday, I will be challenging you to focus on something. This Friday's Focus is gratitude!
You can outsmart your brain. How? Your brain can't be grateful and anxious at the same time. When you are anxious, stressed, or are experiencing any negative emotion, tap into gratitude. We all have at least one thing to be grateful for. When going about your day today, consciously think about what you are grateful for. You can do this while walking, eating, working, etc. Being grateful not only boosts your mood, but it also trains you in humility and builds your character. Even if you are in a neutral or good mood, focus on what you are grateful for, as it will improve your outlook of the day and life. Gratitude naturally inspires positivity and optimism. If you tend to be a pessimistic person, don't be afraid, try being grateful. It will help. There is a second part to this challenge today. Try to spread your gratitude to others. Mention something you are grateful for or say something positive to someone else. It could uplift them and change their viewpoint of the day. The most difficult challenge is trying to adopt this mindset and use it every day of your life. You can do it! This can be a good day, if you choose to see it that way!
